Responsibilities:
• Responsible for supervision and coordination of warehouse activities, owned or subcontracted
• Ensure that the work process, documentation flow and communication of the Operations Department to and from the other departments are running efficiently, maximizing productivity, customer service and teamwork.
• Responsible for monitoring results and adjusting operations & activities to reach or exceed budgets and goals
• Obtain competitive inbound and outbound freight rates from Carriers and offices
• Develop and implement effective Cost Control measures, ensure correct billing and invoicing, and timely payments to Carriers
• Lead and motivate the Operations Team to ensure levels of service meet or exceed customers’ expectations and that all departments have a focus on continuous improvement
• Training and development of the operations team including performance evaluations
• Responsible for on-time and accurate reporting
Requirements:
• Minimum 5 years freight forwarding experience with very good knowledge of the NVOCC and Sea freight Consolidation business
• Management experience in Logistics with strong Sales & Business Development capabilities
• Able to effectively manage and communicate with a diverse and multicultural team
• Commercial flair and ability to develop new business
• Strong leadership, management and motivational abilities
• Good communicator at all levels in English
