Key responsibilities of the role
• Ensuring a robust monthly close process with full general ledger review and preparation and review of all balance sheet reconciliations, clearing any reconciling items in a timely fashion
• Prepare monthly journals: fixed assets / work in progress and overheads accruals and prepayments / intercompany loans
• Identifying and commenting clearly on variances to expectations with key stakeholders to develop and own corrective actions plans where appropriate
• Ensure tight credit control processes with prompt follow up on overdue items, regular customer communication to ensure payments are to contracted terms and maintain clear visibility over expected payment dates with prompt escalation of late payments to senior management to allow further follow up
• Ensure regular customer and supplier statement reconciliations are carried out in a timely fashion
• Day to day cash management
• Liaising with overseas finance teams, providing training, guidance and support and working effectively with remote and overseas operations teams
• Business partnering with a wide variety of global stakeholders across multiple functions
• Interpret business trends and metrics to assist key decision makers in forming an objective view of operations, services and opportunities
• Supporting the strategic planning process through preparation of quarterly forecasts and the annual budget
• Managing the year end external audit process locally, including production of year end file and liaising with external auditors and statutory accounts preparation
• Weekly wage review and IR compliance
• VAT compliance
• Prepare full set of monthly Management accounts for the Relay Board
• Prepare full set of annual financial statements and manage the year end audit process with the provision of all information to external auditors based on a centrally set timetable
• Maintain a robust internal control environment and ensure Group wide policies, procedures and guidelines are implemented
• Qualified Accountant with a bachelor’s degree in business administration or a finance discipline from a leading University with a minimum of 5 years post-qualification experience
• Excellent analytical skills, with the ability to present findings and discuss numerical and commercial information to relevant stakeholders in a meaningful way
• Advanced level proficiency in MS Excel
• Highly organised and efficient with an ability to meet tight deadlines and handle changing workload priorities
• Proactive, evidence of excellent planning an organisation skill with a proven ability to work on your own and as part of the team
• Demonstrate the ability to work meticulously and accurately
• First class communications skills and bilingual – English essential, Arabic desirable
