specifications.
➢ Marks metal members to guide, for instance, cutting drilling and welding
➢ Shaping structure steel in the workshop or at budding and other
constructions.
➢ Positions the parts and prepares the surfaces to be welded.
➢ Selects the right forch nozzle and adjusts the flame (gas welding) or selects
electrode and strikes the arc with correct amp enrage (arc welding) giving
regard to the proper work method and material in use such as oxyfuel and
plasma cutting
➢ Guides the welding flame or electrode to melt and fuse the work pieces with
molten metal from the welding rod or electrode moving the flame or arc
along the joint.
➢ Cleans and smooth the welding joints or parts, cuts steel plates, angle iron
tubes, etc by using power shears guillotines, etc.
➢ Bends shapes and joins the fabricated parts to required specifications.
➢ Brazing and soft soldering different materials together.
➢ Cuts work piece using powered saws hand shears, or chipping knife uses
various grinders to cut and shape plates and pips of different metallurgy
➢ Lays out position and secures parts and assemblies according to
specifications using straightedge. Combination square calipers, rulers and
prepares the surfaces to be welded.
