Position Summary
AFEA POWER is currently seeking a Chief Financial Officer to lead the company across project finance, corporate finance, financial planning and analysis, project sales, investor relations, and sourcing of project debt and equity. The Chief Financial Officer will play a critical role in charting the path towards future growth and success of AFEA POWER. As a member of the executive team, you will report to AFEA Power’s CEO, and will have significant inputs and deliverables across the organization, manage the company’s financial function and will work with the leadership team to deliver on the company’s mission.
Financial Strategy and Fundraising:
Working with the executive team and board, develop and deliver the company’s growth financing strategy:
• Develop an actionable strategic financial model for various projects to deliver cash flow forecast, scenario analysis, risk assessment and return analysis.
• Project costing for submission of proposals, control costing based on the costing, try and trim on th cost without compromising on the quality and efficiency of the deliverables.
• Prepare weekly financial position of AFEA Power, projects in hand, new projects proposed and or confirmed, follow payment from utility companies through AFEA branch offices, and add into the AFEA cash flow. Manage funding position, trace and inform on the upcoming commitments and liabilities, dates for servicing of the interest and or repayments of debts and or bank loans and or private loans.
• Determine the correct mix of debt, equity, and grant capital to fund the company’s profitable growth
• Support and advise the CEO in company fundraising – equity and debt capital
• Oversee the preparation of the annual financial statements is in accordance with various Accounting Standards.
• Ensure that relevant financial data is presented to the CEO and senior management
• Manage currency exposure and develop and implement hedging policies
• Develop finance organizational strategies by contributing financial and accounting information, analysis, and recommendations to strategic thinking and direction establishing functional objectives in line with organizational objectives.
Qualifications and Relevant Experiences:
• 10+ Year’s utility-scale renewables finance experience with recent work as a Senior Manager, Director, VP, or in a C-Level position ideally has worked in a high growth start-up directly for an Investment Banking, Developer, IPP, or Renewable Utility Company
• Ideally with an (Management degree from any of Indian institute of Management Ahmedabad, Lucknow preferable)MBA a C or other equivalent financial management background
• Must have strong understanding of national energy markets and renewable energy portfolios
• Must have experience leading and taking full accountability for company corporate finance, project finance, FP&A, project de, and investor relations initiatives
• Experience with the development of company financial forecast, liquidity assessments, project sales process and debt sourcing strategies
• Ability to participate in advance level discussions in the utility-scale renewables, transmission, and battery storage space
