UAEU seeks an exceptional Manger to serve on the “District 4.0 Project” to oversee
multiple laboratories and integrate the 4th Industrial Revolution (4IR). Reporting to and
working with the Associate Provost for Academic Affairs, and in coordination with the
Dean of Engineering and Dean of Information Technologies, the District 4.0 Project
Manager (Project Manager) will have responsibility for the laboratories to ensure the
application of Applied Research Programs in robotics, artificial intelligence, industrial
and digital manufacturing technologies.
The successful candidate will coordinate and manage the planning phase of “District 4.0
Project” laboratories and will be responsible for their readiness to launch, once
construction of the new “District 4.0 Project” building is complete. Furthermore, the
Project Manager will be responsible for executing the required resources, purchasing
equipment, sourcing talent, and delivering on a critical timeline.
This exciting opportunity will give the Project Manager exposure across the university
engaging with key stakeholders to ensure full utilization of laboratories to increase
research and development of the 4.0 Industrial Revolution and its application across
disciplines and programs.
It is essential that the Project Manager can influence at all levels, inspire a culture of the
discipline and accountability for accelerating growth through the Industry 4.0.
Additionally, this person needs to be able to get results, and have the commitment to
achieve ambitious goals with a high degree of passion and transparency.
Compelling candidates shall demonstrate:
Thorough experience of developing environments in which disruptive technologies
and trends create impact such as the Internet of Things, robotics, virtual reality and
artificial intelligence.
The ability to collaborate with senior leaders and site leadership to develop
strategies, goals, objectives, resource planning and communication.
Develop detailed site plans and schedules to deliver on hard deadlines.
Coach and mentor team members on Industry 4.0 concepts, tools, benefits and
implementation plans.
Keep senior leaders and site leadership current with developing technologies and
progress on the “4.0 project”.
Ensure solution standardization.
