Job Title: General Manager
Department: Structural Steel Fabrication Division
Reports To: Executive Vice President
Summary:
We are seeking a highly qualified and experienced Civil Engineer with a proven track record of success in structural steel fabrication to lead our Structural Steel Fabrication Division as General Manager. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of structural engineering principles, fabrication techniques, and project management methodologies. They will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of our fabrication operations, from planning and scheduling to quality control and customer satisfaction.
Responsibilities:
Develop and implement strategic plans for the Structural Steel Fabrication Division, ensuring alignment with company goals and objectives.
Manage and supervise all aspects of fabrication operations, including production planning, scheduling, quality control, and safety compliance.
Lead a team of experienced engineers and fabricators, providing guidance and mentorship to enhance their skills and performance.
Negotiate and manage contracts with clients, ensuring that projects are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.
Represent the company at industry events and conferences, building relationships with key stakeholders and promoting the company's capabilities.
Continuously evaluate and improve processes to enhance efficiency, productivity, and cost-effectiveness.
Stay up-to-date on industry trends, regulations, and best practices to ensure that the division remains competitive and innovative.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering from an accredited institution.
A minimum of 10 years of experience in structural steel fabrication, with a proven track record of managing and leading large-scale projects.
Experience in all aspects of structural steel fabrication, including design, fabrication, and erection.
Excellent project management skills, with a strong ability to plan, organize, and prioritize tasks.
Strong leadership and communication skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire team members to achieve high performance.
Proficient in computer-aided design (CAD) and project management software.
Additional Requirements:
A Professional Engineer (PE) license is preferred.
Experience in managing and leading a large factory or manufacturing facility.
A proven track record of success in improving efficiency, productivity, and profitability.
A commitment to safety and quality in all aspects of operations.
