To plan and deliver high quality integrated nursing care to patients
• To promote health and well-being of patients
• To work with clinical and non-clinical practice staff, other members of the
wider healthcare team n contributing to delivering objectives set out in the
NHS Action Plan.
• Meeting the standards as set out by the Care Quality Commission (CQC)
• Carry out health assessments on patients e.g., testing urine, blood pressure
checks, heights, weight
• Ensure that the clinical rooms at all times kept in a clean and orderly manner
and that relevant equipment is ready for use by nursing and medical staff
during clinic sessions.
• Assist in clinic sessions as directed by members of the nursing and medical
staff ensuring that all equipment is clean and sterilized following clinic
sessions
• Ensure that the drug refrigerator is at correct temperature daily and that drugs
are within their expiry dates and used in correct sequence.
• Order drugs and other supplies as directed ensuring that adequate levels of
stock are available in the surgery.
• Undertake phlebotomy
• Act always with regard to the confidentiality and sensitivity of issues to do
with patients, their care and treatment
• Always have knowledge of and act within the boundaries of Health and
Safety legislation and data protection acts
• Assist in the call and recall systems for patients’ appointments.
• To comply with all practice policies and procedures, health and safety and
fire regulations.
• Work within evidence-based nursing protocols
• Personally, and accurately record all healthcare activity within the patients’
clinical records ensuring compliance with the NMC standards for record
keeping
• To work in a flexible manner to meet the needs of the service
• To undertake any other duties commensurate with the role, within the bounds
of h own competence.
• To work across clinic sites as required and to provide holiday and sickness
cover when needed.
