Job Overview:
The Joinery Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the joinery workshop, ensuring that projects are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards. The supervisor will manage a team of joiners, coordinate tasks, monitor production schedules, and ensure adherence to safety and quality regulations.
Key Responsibilities:
Supervise and lead a team of joiners, ensuring that all tasks are completed according to project specifications and within deadlines.
Oversee the production of joinery items such as doors, windows, cabinetry, and furniture, ensuring high-quality workmanship.
Ensure compliance with safety regulations and industry standards, maintaining a safe and organized working environment.
Plan and allocate daily work schedules to meet project requirements.
Monitor and maintain equipment, tools, and materials, ensuring they are in good working condition and readily available.
Review and approve the final product to ensure it meets quality standards and client specifications.
Troubleshoot and resolve any technical or production issues that arise during the joinery process.
Coordinate with other departments, such as design, production, and delivery, to ensure smooth project flow.
Train and mentor junior joiners, providing guidance and support to improve their skills and productivity.
Prepare and maintain records of project progress, material usage, and labor hours.
Ensure that all work is completed within budget and meets cost requirements.
Qualifications and Skills:
Proven experience as a joinery supervisor or in a similar leadership role in a joinery workshop.
Strong knowledge of joinery techniques, materials, and equipment.
Excellent leadership and team management skills.
Good understanding of safety regulations and quality standards in joinery.
Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting abilities.
Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications.
Excellent organizational and time-management skills.
Good communication skills, both written and verbal.
High attention to detail and quality.
Qualifications:
A diploma or certification in joinery, carpentry, or a related field (preferred).
Relevant trade certifications (e.g., joinery apprenticeship) (preferred).
Previous experience in a supervisory or managerial role in joinery or woodworking.
Working Conditions:
Full-time, on-site role in a joinery workshop or production facility.
