Job Description:
We are seeking a reliable and hardworking Kitchen Helper to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for assisting the cooks and chefs in food preparation and maintaining cleanliness and orderliness in the kitchen.
Responsibilities and Duties:
- Assist with food preparation tasks such as chopping vegetables, portioning food, and preparing sauces
- Help assemble dishes by plating food attractively and accurately according to the recipes
- Assist with dishwashing and cleaning tasks as needed
- Assist with inventory management by keeping track of stock levels, notifying the Kitchen Manager when supplies run low and ensuring that the kitchen is well-stocked with ingredients and supplies
- Maintain cleanliness and orderliness of the kitchen by wiping down counters and surfaces, taking out trash, mopping floors, and other cleaning tasks as needed
- Follow kitchen safety and hygiene protocols at all times
- Help restock necessary food prep materials and containers
Qualifications and Requirements:
- High School diploma or equivalent is preferred
- Experience working in a kitchen is a plus
- Good communication skills
- Ability to work independently or as part of a team
- Ability to stand for long hours and lift up to 30 pounds
- Basic cooking skills and knowledge of various kitchen tools and appliances
- Positive attitude and willingness to learn new skills
- Knowledge of food safety and hygiene practices
