Responsibilities
The marine joiner carpenter foreman:
Refers to blueprints, work orders, or oral instruction for specifications of work to be done.
Selects materials and structural units, such as lumber or prefabricated items of metal, wood, or plastic, to be utilized on work to be performed.
Instructs workers accordingly.
Confers with the general manager, project manager, yard superintendent, engineering, and other support personnel to analyze scheduling, production, and quality control of work being done.
Inspects and approves all work performed to assure conformance to specifications.
Is responsible for the adherence to company safety rules and regulations, along with all other policies and procedures, by his or her workers, and to direct workers to the proper methods of performing work in a safe and responsible manner.
Is responsible for the enforcement of all such company rules, policies, and procedures.
May confer with inspectors to maintain specified standards and quality.
May assist workers with layout or troubleshoot failed equipment.
May train workers who are upgrading in position to the proper techniques or procedures when performing work.
Performs other incidental tasks such as recording time worked by employees on each individual job, reporting man-hours worked to the proper department, requisitioning materials and supplies, operating overhead cranes and other lifting equipment, and operating company vehicles.
Must relevant working experience, 1 to 3 years atleast.
