Education : Bachelor’s degree in law or equivalent
Job Description
To assist Commercial Director for handling and coordinating commercial aspects of the company including, prequalifying, tendering, drafting, and negotiating contracts
Assisting the commercial department on daily basis with regards to contracts, risks and reporting to Commercial Director and (Vice) Chairman
Provide counsel on local and international contracts and provide critical counsel on Marine legal matters including seafarers and insurances
Preparing, drafting, and wording clauses and agreements for wide variety of legal documentation and issues for Commercial team such as company assets, contracts, ship registration, ownership registration, certificate of incorporation and insurances demand letters, deeds, wills, lawsuits and appeals
Negotiating all types of contracts to meet the needs of the company
Explain the law and provide legal advice including monitoring legal risk in documentation and giving guidance on the acceptable assumption of risk.
Interpret laws, rulings, and regulations for natural and juristic persons
Conducting legal research such as legal concepts, case law, judicial opinions, statute, and regulations
Providing proper legal citation and statutory interpretation
Maintaining accurate case files, notes, and reports
Ensure that appropriate approvals are in place before documents are executed
Offer legal representation at arbitration or mediation hearings
Prepare pleadings, notices and make appearances in court
Manage regulatory and compliance-related services including Ultimate Beneficiary Owner (UBO) procedure
Facilitate innovative solutions to client problems.
Manage and oversee paralegals and legal assistants.
Coordinate with Finance department for retrieval of overdue or outstanding amounts
Assisting Finance Department review ban agreement corresponding to Direct of indirect facilities.
Assisting Finance Department in addressing bank’s due diligence questioners raised by compliance Department.
Offshore Companies’ registration , renewal and update corresponding “Trade Licenses” and “Register of Directors”.
Experience 5+ years related work experience in Marine is a must
Knowledge Sound knowledge of offshore oil and gas labour market
Sound knowledge of BIMCO, Saudi Aramco Offshore Time, ADNOC Framework agreement and similar contracts for oil & gas and EPC companies
Sound knowledge of marine insurance
Sound knowledge of Maritime legislation (STCW, MLC 2006)
