Need an Oil and Gas Plant Inspector immediately for a one year and extendable basis for a reputed Oil and Gas Firm based in Dubai with the main responsibility for directing and carrying out in-service inspections and inspection activities related to the repair a alterations of boilers, pressure vessels and piping systems in accordance with established procedures and work instructions. .
Primary responsibilities
l) Direction of NDT assistants
Organizes and directs the activities and work of the NDT assistants to ensure that all supportive work within a specific area of Inspection is carried out in an efficient and procedurally compliant manner.
2) Technical Coordination and Integrity Inspection
Plans and carries out corrosion surveys of pressure vessels and piping systems, analyses the results, and recommend appropriate corrective actions.
Plan and direct non-destructive testing activities associated with in-service inspection and welding during fabrication a repa of equipment. Carries out critical inspections during maintenance shutdown activities, documents results and formulates recommendations for run, repair or replace option.
Carries out inspection activities for any new project activities mainly pertaining to replacement of existing equipment / plant piping.
Carries out local vendor audits inspections during fabrication of pressure equipment to verify compliance with approved Quality Control procedures.
3) Inspection Data Records
Maintain and analyze inspection data records to further mitigate potential damage mechanism safeguarding equipment integrity
4) Policies, Systems, Processes, and Procedures
Implement approved departmental policies, processes, procedures and instructions and monitor subordinate's adherence to ensure that work is carried out in a controlled manner.
5) Continual Improvement
Contribute to the identification of opportunities for continual improvement of systems, processes and practices taking into account 'international best practice', business processes, cost reduction and productivity.
6) MIS and Reports
Prepare departmental MIS statements and reports timely and accurately to meet company and department requirements, policies and standards. Prepare inspection reports detailing inspection findings, repai carried out and any recommendations for future reference.
7) Safety, Quality, and Environment
Ensure compliance to all relevant safety, quality and environmental management procedures and controls relevant to the inspection gro to promote employee safety, legislative compliance, delivery of high-quality produc and a responsible environmental attitude.
Educational qualification required:
Technical School Graduate diploma or Apprenticeship
API 510 and either API 570 / API 653 industry certification and one of the following; ASNT / CSWIP NDE Level 2 certification in at least three methods.
NACE CP2 Cathodic Protection Technician.
NACE CIP2 Coatings Inspector.
cwl / AWS / CSWIP Certified Welding Inspector.
Expected experience:
• 10 years' experience in in-service inspection in the Oil & Gas industry with at least 5 years in a similar position.
Job-specific proficiencies:
• Sound working knowledge of ASME Codes and Standards, API Standards & Recommended Practices, ASTM standards, NACE standards and familiar with other European / Asian standards.
• Significant knowledge and experience in Non-Destructive Examination (NDE) methods, Welding process and metallurgy, Cathodic Protection (CP) and Protective Coating systems.
• Awareness with RBI programs using API industry standard software.
• Exposure to Remaining Life assessment (RLA) & Fitness for Service (FFS) assessment.
• Working knowledge and proficiency with MS office suite.
