Job Description

Overview:
This position is responsible for managing the Government Relations (GR) function to support employees and managers within a designated office or group of offices primarily in the areas of Visa administration and management, Work Permits, Licenses, Traffic and Labour Relations with the Ministries. This position does not work under major supervision and utilizes knowledge, experience and judgment to accomplish goals. Focus is on utilising previous experience, combining technical knowledge with relationship skills. Responsible for processing of medium to high complexity tasks.
Responsibilities:
-          Responsible for  day to day processing of all transactions relating to visas, permits, licenses and registration while liaising with various government departments, agencies and ministries.
-          Oversee the processing of all types of visas, including employment visas, residence visas for employees, their families and business visitors.
-          Monitor the renewal of permits and licenses including trade license, municipality license, chamber of commerce certificates of registration and civil defense certificate.
-          Be up to date with regard to any changes or amendments to the prevailing laws / rules / regulations, changes in forms formats and other procedures.
-          Ensure that all relevant documents are submitted periodically to the immigration / labour office with regard to cancelled / absconding employees in order to be deleted from the company sponsorship.
-          Ensure the departure and exit formalities for employees are completed after cancellation of visas.
-          Obtain quarterly sponsorship reports from the immigration / labour office and tally sponsorships and re-submit to immigration / labour office with relevant support documents.
-          Ensure compliance with country specific employment regulations and guidelines: 
-          Assist in the development of HR policies in order to satisfy legal requirements, cost containments, and work environments. 
-          May assume subject matter expert role on specific GR task or function and act as lead and representative. 
-          Conduct presentations and facilitate training on GR related topics at departmental meetings, town hall meetings and other forums.
-          Responsible for coordinating and liaising between the Company and Government organisations / authorities and provide a key inter-face between the two.
-          Provide quick, efficient and reliable services for all Government related jobs such as Employment Permits, Entry Visas, Medical Examinations, miscellaneous jobs related to Immigration, Ministry of Labor & Consulates, and Business Licences to the company and its group.
-          Adhering to the regular amendments in rules and regulations within very short notices.
-          Respond effectively to the demands of the Businesses, employees and their families to assist them on all government related service.
-          Well Versed with Police complaints procedures and good contacts with the concerned department is a must.
