Objective
The primary goal of the sales engineer is to represent the business in front of customers / potential
customers and carry out conceptual sales. In order to carry out your job effectively you must have a
background in steel structural designs, particularly in civil and have exceptional presentation and
negotiation skills.
Be able to develop and check structural schemes including comparisons of alternatives and
prepare concept design reports.
Responsible in maintaining current clients list and stay in connection with their status.
Learn and utilize company's production processes, procedures and quality standards.
Managing and interpreting customer requirements.
Preparing project specific cost estimates, tender documents and technical / commercial proposals
Proactively following-up on sales leads, quotations and new projects
Co-ordinate with Technical team for work preparation, which includes: preparation of workshop
drawings, technical production information and job overviews.
Defining, designing and implementing in collaboration with the production engineer, the required
production and bending tooling.
Be able to independently & objectively verify works produced by another design team.
Provide technical consultations for interdisciplinary analytical studies and analyses.
Handling technical and commercial correspondence with clients and suppliers by telephone, email
and project meetings
Reporting on a weekly basis to the management and contributing to team effort by accomplishing
the set monthly and annual targets
Be able to manage sizeable multi discipline projects ensuring all designs produced by different
disciplines are well coordinated.
May act in an advisory capacity to senior management personnel on engineering related matters
