View Emirates Sports Club is looking for an experienced Senior Accountant (preferably male applicants) who will be responsible for overseeing the accounting activities of the organization, including financial statement preparation, budgeting, and forecasting. They will ensure compliance with applicable laws and regulations, analyse financial data, and provide recommendations to improve financial performance. The ideal candidate should have strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and a solid understanding of accounting principles and procedures.
Job Responsibilities
Manage the preparation and analysis of financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements.
Ensure accuracy and completeness of financial records, identifying and resolving any discrepancies or errors.
Perform budgeting and forecasting activities, providing guidance and support to other departments.
Monitor and analyse monthly variances in financial performance, providing explanations and recommendations to management.
Review and approve journal entries, reconciliations, and other accounting transactions.
Ensure compliance with accounting principles, standards, and regulations.
Ensure compliance with local tax laws and regulations, including VAT and corporate tax filings.
Develop and maintain internal controls to safeguard financial assets and ensure the integrity of financial data.
Assist in the preparation of external audit schedules and coordinate audit activities with auditors.
Train and mentor junior accounting staff, providing guidance and support as needed.
Stay updated on industry trends and changes in accounting standards.
Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance.
Certified Public Accountant (CPA) designation preferred.
Minimum of 5 years of progressive accounting experience.
Proficiency in accounting software preferably XERO.
Strong knowledge of Accounting Principles, Regulations, and Inventory Management.
Demonstrate intermediate to advanced skills and knowledge of Excel, as well as other Microsoft Office applications.
