Position Overview:
The role of a Senior Electrical Engineer as a Site Engineer is to oversee and manage the electrical aspects of construction projects on-site. This position requires a strong technical background in electrical engineering and excellent project management skills to ensure the successful implementation, coordination, and commissioning of electrical systems according to project requirements, industry standards, and quality guidelines.
Key Responsibilities:
1.Project Management: Manage and coordinate the electrical aspects of construction projects, ensuring adherence to project plans, schedules, budgets, and quality standards.
2.Design Review and Coordination: Review electrical designs, drawings, and specifications to ensure coordination with architectural and structural elements, compliance with codes and regulations, and alignment with project requirements.
3.Electrical System Installation Supervision: Supervise and monitor the installation, testing, and commissioning of electrical systems on-site, including power distribution, lighting, fire alarm, security, and other electrical equipment, ensuring compliance with approved designs, specifications, and quality standards.
4.Contractor Management: Collaborate with electrical contractors, subcontractors, and suppliers, overseeing their performance, evaluating their work, and ensuring timely delivery of electrical installations.
5.Technical Support: Provide technical guidance and support to on-site teams, resolving technical issues, clarifying specifications, and ensuring effective implementation of electrical systems.
6.Quality Control: Implement and enforce quality control procedures, inspections, and tests for electrical installations, ensuring compliance with standards, regulations, and project requirements.
7.Coordination with Other Disciplines: Collaborate with architects, structural engineers, and other stakeholders to ensure proper coordination and integration of electrical systems with the overall project design.
8.Doent Control: Maintain accurate records, doentation, and reports related to electrical activities, including as-built drawings, equipment submittals, test reports, and project progress reports.
9.Health and Safety: Promote and enforce strict adherence to health and safety regulations and guidelines, ensuring a safe working environment for all on-site personnel involved in electrical activities.
10.Stakeholder Communication: Liaise and communicate effectively with project stakeholders, including clients, consultants, suppliers, and contractors, to ensure smooth project coordination and resolve any electrical-related issues or concerns.
Requirements:
•Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
•Proven experience as an Electrical Engineer or Site Engineer in construction projects, preferably with a focus on electrical systems.
•Strong knowledge of electrical systems, codes, regulations, and industry standards.
•Proficiency in electrical design software, AutoCAD, and other relevant tools.
•Excellent organizational, leadership, and communication skills.
•Ability to manage and prioritize multiple tasks in a fast-paced construction environment.
•Attention to detail and a strong commitment to quality.
•Familiarity with electrical construction methods, materials, and equipment.
•Professional certifications or memberships in relevant engineering associations are advantageous.
