• Coordinate for all technical matters and ensure that safety is being given the highest priority.
• Maintain close communication with the vessel management team, and lead, develop, spare and coach assigned Senior Officers on all matters (safety, technical, cost leadership).
• Co-operate and work across all onshore departments such as, operations and purchasing.
• Responsible for maintenance, repairs, planned maintenance and modifications to the vessels’ hull and machineries.
• Plan, coordinate and execute inspections.
• Follow up on the performance of the vessels and arrange corrective actions to be carried out when necessary.
• Initiate innovations, savings and improvements within the area of responsibility.
• Monitor the quality of all service providers.
• Liaise and coordinate with vessel, Master and Chief Engineer to ensure all spares and equipment's are in place and accordingly coordinate internally with purchase for order
• Take part in vessel audits and inspections for technical matters in coordination with the internal depts.
• Prepare for arranging workshops, repairs and maintenance, coordinating with different authorized vendors and maker companies.
• Advising the ships under control on budget as well as the actual cost for the technical items
• Reducing costs by motivating the ship’s staff, improving cost awareness by regularly advising them on cost of stores and spares ordered and encouraging and assisting ship crew to find alternatives in emergency situations.
• Checking all bills for repai / spar and keeping verification of same through shipboard record of suppli.
• Monitoring and establishing reasons for excessi wear and tear and developing means to contr the same onboard.
• Knowledge on TM Flag and class is a must.
• Degree in Marine Engineering
• Holding a valid COC of CE or Second Engineer minimum
• Previous sailing experience as Engine Engineer
• Tanker Experience would be a plus
• Excellent communication skills, written and verbal
• Coordination and commit to deadlines
• Willing to proactively work with minimum supervision.
