Origen, a leading IT services provider, is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Virtualization and Networking Specialist to join our dynamic team. As an MSP (Managed Service Provider), we are dedicated to delivering top-notch IT solutions to our clients, who are our valued customers. The ideal candidate will possess a minimum of 5 to 6 years of hands-on experience in virtualization using VMware technologies and hold relevant certifications from VMware. Additionally, a solid background in networking, preferably with certifications from Cisco or Juniper, would be considered a valuable asset. As an additional element of consideration, candidates with Nutanix certifications listed on the Nutanix website, or a willingness to obtain such certifications, will be viewed favorably. Proficiency in English communication is crucial, as effective collaboration and communication with our internal teams and external clients are essential. This role involves designing, implementing, and maintaining virtualized environments that cater to the unique needs of our customer base, ensuring seamless integration with networking components for optimal performance.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Virtualization Expertise:
· Design, deploy, and manage virtualized environments utilizing VMware technologies.
· Monitor and optimize virtual infrastructure performance, ensuring high availability and resource efficiency.
· Troubleshoot and resolve virtualization-related issues promptly to minimize downtime and disruptions.
· Stay up-to-date with the latest developments in VMware technologies and recommend improvements to enhance system performance.
2. Certification and Compliance:
· Possess one or more certifications from VMware, such as VCP (VMware Certified Professional) or higher, demonstrating proficiency in VMware virtualization technologies.
· Keep certifications current by participating in ongoing training and renewal activities.
3. Networking Integration:
· Collaborate with the networking team to design and implement virtual networks that align with the unique requirements of our client base.
· Ensure seamless integration between virtualized environments and networking components to meet the diverse needs of our customers.
· Troubleshoot networking issues affecting virtual infrastructure and implement solutions to optimize network performance.
4. Nutanix Expertise (Optional):
· Possess Nutanix certifications listed on the Nutanix website, such as Nutanix Certified Professional (NCP) or Nutanix Certified Advanced Professional (NCAP), or demonstrate a willingness to obtain these certifications.
· Apply Nutanix expertise to enhance virtualization and infrastructure capabilities, tailoring solutions to the specific demands of our client projects.
5. Doentation and Reporting:
· Maintain detailed doentation of virtualization configurations, network setups, and troubleshooting procedures.
· Generate regular reports on virtualization and networking performance, identifying areas for improvement and proposing solutions.
6. Security and Compliance:
· Implement and maintain security measures to protect virtualized environments and ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations, aligning with the unique compliance needs of our clients.
· Participate in security audits and assist in implementing remediation strategies when necessary.
7. Technical Support and Training:
· Provide technical support to our internal IT teams and collaborate closely with our clients to address virtualization-related inquiries and issues.
· Conduct training sessions for our internal teams and assist clients in understanding and leveraging virtualization best practices and procedures.
Qualifications:
· Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field (or equivalent work experience).
· Minimum of 5 to 6 years of proven experience in designing, implementing, and managing virtualized environments using VMware technologies.
· VMware certifications, such as VCP, VCAP, or VCIX, strongly preferred.
· Familiarity with networking concepts, protocols, and technologies.
· Certifications from Cisco (CCNA, CCNP, CCIE), Juniper (JNCIA, JNCIS, JNCIE), or Nutanix (NCP, NCAP) a plus, or willingness to obtain them.
· Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot complex technical issues.
· Excellent English communication and collaboration skills to effectively interact with both internal teams and external clients.
· Detail-oriented with a commitment to maintaining accurate doentation.
