Summary:
The Warehouse Helper is responsible for assisting in various aspects of warehouse operations to ensure the efficient handling and distribution of goods. This role involves tasks such as receiving, storing, picking, packing, and shipping products. The Warehouse Helper will work under the guidance of the Warehouse Supervisor or Manager to maintain an organized and safe warehouse environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Receiving and Inspection:
Unload and receive incoming shipments from suppliers or production.
Inspect and verify received goods for accuracy and quality.
Record and report any discrepancies or damages.
Storage and Organization:
Safely store products in designated locations within the warehouse.
Maintain an organized and clean work area, ensuring clear pathways and proper labeling.
Picking and Packing:
Utilize order sheets or digital systems to pick items from shelves or storage areas.
Pack and label products according to established procedures and standards.
Inventory Management:
Conduct regular cycle counts to ensure accurate stock levels.
Assist in the periodic physical inventory checks.
Loading and Shipping:
Prepare outgoing shipments, including packaging and labeling.
Load products onto delivery vehicles, ensuring proper stacking and securing.
Equipment Operation:
Operate basic warehouse equipment such as forklifts, pallet jacks, and hand trucks (if trained and certified).
Safety and Compliance:
Adhere to all safety protocols and guidelines to ensure a safe working environment.
Comply with company policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.
Communication:
Report any inventory discrepancies, damages, or shortages promptly to supervisors.
Communicate effectively with team members and other departments as needed.
Assistance with Special Projects:
Provide support for special warehouse projects or initiatives as assigned by supervisors.
