Position: Marine Draftsman
Job Details:
1. Responsible for making detailed structural, outfitting and piping drawings for ship building projects.
2. Establishing liaison with architects and engineers in order to understand the nature of the project.
3. Ability to create manual and computer based drawings.
4. Must have the skills to create 2D & 3D drawings (ACAD 2D and 3D, Rhino, Shipconstructor).
5. The draftsman should be able to create drawings according to the requirements of the client.
6. Creates required CAD shop drawings and fly sketches for construction.
7. Able to prepare detailed construction drawings such as longitudinal profiles, Cross-section etc.
8. Generate BOQ’s based on the design and drawings.
9. Liaise with Project Manager and Client Engineer to understand their needs.
10. Co-ordinates project-specific tasks and provide necessary supports.
11. Provide and update project reports, schedules, budgets and execution plans.
12. Follows Company policies and procedures.
13. Manages time effectively.
14. Additional duties as and when required.
15. Co-ordinate with the architects and engineers in order to add to the value of the work or add aesthetic value to the sketches.
16. Incorporate changes or modifications according to the suggestions of the architect or the engineer.
17. Ability to put thoughts into action as far as making drawings are concerned.
18. After the completion of the initial sketches, the draftsman presents them to the architect for review and appropriate implementation.
19. Prepare nesting package and issue for production purposes
20. Develop Engineering Standards as required
Attend technical meetings or surveys based on the requirements.
Qualifications: Minimum 5 years Marine industry experience.
Have passed the certification program required for work (diploma or equivalent).
Sufficient marine experience.
UAE Experience preferred.
