The Warehouse Manager is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of a warehouse holding stock on consignment. This role ensures efficient storage, inventory management, and timely dispatch while maintaining compliance with contractual agreements and regulatory requirements. The Warehouse Manager will implement best practices in stock control, safety, and logistics to optimize operational efficiency and minimize risks associated with consigned inventory.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Inventory & Stock Management•Oversee the receipt, storage, and distribution of consignment stock.•Maintain accurate inventory records, ensuring stock levels align with consignment agreements.•Implement and monitor inventory control systems to prevent stock discrepancies.•Conduct regular stock audits and cycle counts, ensuring accurate reconciliation with suppliers.•Track stock movements, shelf life, and condition to prevent obsolescence or damage.
2. Warehouse Operations & Compliance•Supervise day-to-day warehouse activities, including order fulfillment, loadi, and stock transfers.•Ensure compliance with consignment agreements, including proper doentation and reporting to suppliers.•Enforce safety, hygiene, and regulatory standards within the warehouse.•Develop and implement warehouse Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for efficiency and accuracy.•Coordinate with procurement, sales, and finance teams to align inventory with business needs.
3. Logistics & Distribution•Plan and oversee the timely dispatch of goods to customers or production facilities.•Optimize warehouse layout and storage methods for efficient stock handling.•Collaborate with transport and logistics teams to minimize lead times and costs.•Implement proper handling and packaging standards to prevent damage during transit.
4. Staff Supervision & Performance Management•Lead and manage warehouse staff, including hiring, training, and performance evaluation.•Assign work schedules, monitor productivity, and ensure adherence to company policies.•Foster a culture of accountability, teamwork, and continuous improvement among warehouse personnel.
5. Reporting & Supplier Coordination•Prepare regular reports on stock levels, turnover rates, and consignment reconciliation.•Liaise with suppliers on consignment stock replenishment, returns, and contractual obligations.•Analyze inventory data to identify trends, inefficiencies, and opportunities for cost savings.•Ensure all transactions and records comply with financial and audit requirements.
6. Technology & Process Improvement•Utilize Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) to track and manage inventory.•Identify and implement process improvements to enhance warehouse efficiency.•Stay updated on industry best practices and emerging technologies in warehouse management.
Qualifications & Experience:•Education: Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration, or a related field.•Experience: Minimum of 5–7 years in warehouse management, preferably handling consignment stock.•Technical Skills: Proficiency in WMS, ERP systems, and MS Office (Excel, Word, Outlook).•Knowledge: Strong understanding of inventory control, consignment stock management, and logistics.•Leadership: Experience in managing teams and fostering a high-performance work environment.•Analytical Skills: Ability to analyze stock movement data and generate actionable insights.•Compliance: Knowledge of warehouse safety standards, legal requirements, and audit procedures.
